A robotics “start-up” for kids in the Cayman Islands

345 Robotics was started with sponsorship by TechCayman, using VexIQ, which combines an educational STEM curriculum with a fun – and global – robotics competition. Read more about VexIQ here

Between September 2019 and January 2021, 345 Robotics has run several pilot programs that have given dozens of children (ages 8-15) in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac their first opportunity to experience robotics in an extracurricular (non-academic) setting. Volunteer mentors and parent volunteers have run these pilot phases during weekends and school vacations. Besides having a lot of fun, the volunteers have gained valuable insights into how this program can benefit a wide array of children and expand opportunities for them.

Over these past 17 months, we’ve created great momentum, and 345 Robotics is ready to grow. Please register your interest via this form – including our previous participants. We are gathering information about how to expand the program most effectively.

We’re eager to find volunteer mentors of any age who can help kids learn programming and engineering/technical skills. These are not a requirement for volunteering, but there are a few other essential requirements. Use this form if you’re interested in being a mentor/volunteer, and we’ll get in touch with you.
